DELPH-AI – Gesamtkunstwerk as a collective process

– A collaboration with the HfBK (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden) –

For the “Sommerfest” 2022 of the HfBK, a creative project was organized: Computer science students from the Technische Universität Dresden as well as stage and costume design students from the HfBK tried to combine stage art with AI tools.

To this end, we trained a large language model with content of Greek mythology , especially from “Oresteia”. The audience could type in questions using an old keyboard. The answers of the model were prompted on a huge canvas and additionally played as audio with a self written text-to-speech application in Python. During the staging, the students presented a rehearsed choreography. Throughout, the answers of the AI were visualized live with VR sets. The staging could be watched by the audience in a lounge separated from the stage, where drinks and snacks were served. The poster was designed with the AI art tool dream.ai by WOMBO.
