Diya अंतरात्मा की ज्वाला
[Antaraatma ki Jwala] - Fire of Life

The diya is a traditional oil lamp from the Indian cultural sphere, providing a small, simple light that radiates warmth and comfort. My design captures the simple functionality of a classic diya while giving it a new form. Using wood - a combustible material - creates a contrast to the fireproof porcelain. This design was part of the exhibition "Mythos Handwerk" at the Japanisches Palais Dresden, in cooperation with the Dresden Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades.
